Luís Miguel Leite is a guitarist with a Licentiate Degree from the University of Minho and a Master’s Degree in Music Teaching from the Institute of Education at the University of Minho. Throughout his education he has worked with some of the most prestigious contemporary guitarists.

Luís Miguel Leite has been awarded and distinguished at dozens of national and international classical guitar contests, including: the International Classical Guitar Festival Luigi Mozzani (Vibo Valentia – Italy) in 2011, the Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Guitar Competition (Bilbao – Spain) in 2014, the Luso-Spanish Competition (Fafe – Portugal) in the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2013, the National Guitar Competition (Ourém and Fátima – Portugal) in 2012, the Regional Competition of Vila Verde in 2013 and the Gilberta Paiva contest in 2014, the latter two in the chamber music area. He was nominated for the Ardinas d'Ouro Award (Notícias de Fafe award) for his music videos with works by F. Tárrega, J. Turina and Mauro Giuliani.

With regard to discography, Luís Miguel Leite has already released two solo albums, Música Contemporânea Portuguesa para Guitarra (2020), an album shared with the guitarist José Teixeira, and Guitarra Clássica (2019). He participated in the recording of the album Pleiades (2015) with the Portuguese Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra (OPGB) and in the recording of the album Dream Sandwich (2020) by the composer Yuri Umemoto (Japan), where he performs the work Dawning (dedicated to him). His work has been presented at the Antena 2 (Portuguese classical radio), Rádio Vizela (local radio), FafeTV, TCF (Azores TV – Portugal), RTP Madeira (with the OPGB), among others.

Luís Miguel Leite is dedicated to the performance, dissemiantion and giving premieres of contemporary Portuguese guitar repertoire, at concerts across the continent and the islands.
