The piece is part of a project that aims to tell traditional tales and original stories as viewed by Portuguese composers today for both a younger and adult audience… The work is a large scale graphic score for narrator, flute, clarinet, violin, piano, cello and optional live electronics. The piece takes on a playful approach to gesture and narrative by using expressive graphic elements as a way of distributing musical material throughout the ensemble. The graphic notation strategy is derived from the work Cipher Series (2010) and is conceived to be displayed to both musicians and audiences.
The premiere took place on the 11th of June 2011 in Cascais (Portugal).
