This animated LED installation is part of the QR Code exhibition, for which it was created in conjunction with the Terceira Pessoa Association. QR Stitchers has already been in Lisbon, Elvas, Faro and Castelo Branco.
QR Code is a multimedia and performative installation that explores the graphic visualisation of two-dimensional codes - Quick Response Code -, interconnecting it with other artistic languages, aiming at Marshall McLuhan's concept of 'Media as Extensions', which saw the media as the potential extension of human faculties. The object is made up of different media - performance, video, sound, installation - as polyphonic elements in a face-to-face space, testing the limits of communication and the possibilities of information. Moving through two spaces with distinct presences and times - the interior of the gallery and the exterior of the streets in each place - QR Code proposes an immersive and reflective relationship resulting from the tension between physical and virtual experience.
