"The creation of this piece, like all my music" – says this composer published by the MIC.PT in the programme note – "is based on listening and spectral understanding of the sonic phenomenon, taking into account the acoustic properties of the musical instrument as the object of re-search, and leading to the abstract speculation on the compositional process".

…winterlich ruhende Erde… (2000) for solo cello is the piece by Luís Antunes Pena – composer published by the MIC.PT –, which will be performed by Thomas Piel on April 9 in Lugo (Spain), in the context of the 7th MIHLSons-XXI Contemporary Music Cycle, organized by the Vertixe Sonora Ensemble. The title of the piece is a quotation from the novel Doctor Faustus by Thomas Mann. "Mann com-pares the apparent non-creation of the character and composer Adrian Leverkusen with the winter sleep of the earth, in which new life starts slowly to grow underneath, but becoming visible later, long after the process already started. This metaphor of the visible and invisible world, was an inspiring impulse to work on a kind of process that I would call organic" – reveals Luís Antunes Pena.

Your Trash (2016) for percussion, electronics and video is the piece by Igor C. Silva, which will be performed by the percus-sionist Noé Rodrigo on April 30 in Lugo (Spain), in the context of the 7th MIHLSons-XXI Contemporary Music Cycle, organized by the Verixe Sonora Ensemble. The opera Canção do Bandido by Nuno Côrte-Real (music) and Pedro Mexia (libretto) has been awarded with the Author's Prize 2019 by the SPA – Portuguese Author's Society, in the category Best Classical Music Work. The other nominees in the same category were: Hugo Vasco Reis (composer published by the MIC.PT) for the discographic work O Espaço da Sombra and António Pinho Vargas (composer published by the MIC.PT) for the work Memorial. Canção do Bandido was premiered on November 8 last year at the Trindade Theatre in Lisbon.
