Soprano Camila Mandillo is currently an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium), under the guidance of Sophie Koch and Stéphane Degout.

She graduated with distinction from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under Martin Bruns and Uta Priew, supported by a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She has also been awarded merit-based grants, including the Deutschlandstipendium, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V., and the DMR Scholarship Programme as part of Neustart Kultur.

She has taken part in masterclasses with artists such as Sabine Devieilhe and José van Dam, among other notable figures.

Camila regularly performs in recitals, opera productions, and contemporary music projects – a field in which she is receiving growing recognition. Highlights include her appearances as a soloist in the ENOA workshops Composing for Voices and Orchestra with composers Kaija Saariaho (2023) and Luca Francesconi (2024), alongside the Gulbenkian Orchestra; her debut in Neuen Szenen IV at the Deutsche Oper Berlin; the opening concerts of the 2022 and 2024 editions of Festival Música Viva, with the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa respectively; and performances at Art’s Birthday – Euroradio Ars Acustica and the Antwerp Spring Festival with the Orchestre National de Lille.

She has collaborated with ensembles such as Il Gardellino Orchestra, Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, IEMA Ensemble, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa , and the Baroque Orchestra of Casa da Música, and since 2020 has been actively involved in projects with the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble.

She is one of the featured performers at the World New Music Days 2025 in Lisbon, where she will take part in the opening concert at the Centro Cultural de Belém.

Following a joint nomination by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa da Música, and BOZAR, she was selected by the ECHO network as one of its Rising Stars for the 2026–2027 season, with an international tour across some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls.
