César Viana was born in Southampton (United Kingdom) and in 1992 attended the bisel flute course at Lisbon’s National Conservatory. Two years later he finished the higher course in composition from that same institution. His work is mostly composed of chamber music and arrangements.
César Viana has also been dedicating his career to musical direction. Particularly worth of mention is the creation of the chamber orchestra “Sinfonia B”. In 1993 he founded CCIM – Creation and Computer Music Centre of the Portuguese Musical Youth.
César Viana was a teacher at the Lisbon Gregorian Institute and music coordinator of the National Conservatory’s Dance School.
