Cadavre Exquis
New CD Edition under the auspices of the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre
The new CD, Cadavre Exquis, Portuguese Composers of the 21st Century, by the Miso Records and under the auspices of the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre, MIC.PT, was released on November 21, during the opening concert of the Música Viva 2014 at O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon.
This new edition, which includes the performances of the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble conducted by Pedro Neves, is composed of 45 music miniatures, acoustic and electroacoustic, created on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Miso Music Portugal in 2010, by various Portuguese contemporary artists: Álvaro Garcia de Zuñiga, André Castro, Ângela Lopes, António Chagas Rosa, António Ferreira, António de Sousa Dias, António Pinho Vargas, Bruno Gabirro, Cândido Lima, Carlos Alberto Augusto, Carlos Azevedo, Carlos Caires, Carlos Guedes, Carlos Marecos, Christopher Bochmann, Clotilde Rosa, Daniel Schvetz, Duarte Dinis Silva, Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta, Emanuel Frazão, Filipe Lopes, Isabel Pires, Isabel Soveral, Ivan Moody, João Madureira, João Pedro Oliveira, José Luís Ferreira, Luís Tinoco, Miguel Azguime, Patrícia Sucena de Almeida, Paula Azguime, Paulo Brandão, Paulo Ferreira-Lopes, Pedro Amaral, Pedro M. Making reference to the surrealist game of creating collective works of art, the Cadavre Exquis constitutes an affirmation of the richness, which nowadays exists in Portuguese art music, evidencing the phenomenon already proclaimed as the Second Renaissance of Composition in Portugal.
This new edition was realized within the MINSTREL European project (MusIc Network Supporting Trans-national exchange and dissemination of music Resources at European Level), where the MIC.PT is partner. The project includes the participation of 12 entities from 11 European countries: Greece, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Cyprus, Belgium, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Portugal, Croatia and Latvia. MINSTREL aims at promoting the mobility and diversity in Europe, among artists connected with the art of music.
