IN MAY VITOR RUA IS THE MIC.PT COMPOSER IN FOCUS
In May the mic.pt composer “In Focus” is Vítor Rua – improviser, instrumentalist and video maker. Always following his own path he began as a rock musician, but gradually moved towards the circles of new music. As musician he is interested in practically every music style, which nowadays remains at the composers’ disposal. In his work he often uses irony in order to deconstruct traditional music forms and make comments on contemporaneity (it is worth mentioning that Vítor Rua is a regular facebook user). This year Vítor Rua celebrates his 50th anniversary. His works are edited and published by the mic.pt – at present there are 60 scores available for investigation and performance. Visit the mic.pt website and get to know the work of Vítor Rua, almost the Portuguese Frank Zappa.
